This opportunity is only available to residents of Montgomery County, and attendees may be asked for proof of residency. OLATHE, Kan. - A Johnson County judge decided Jackson Mahomes can have contact with three of four people listed as witnesses in his battery case.During a hearing Tuesday afternoon the judge reminded each witness they are not allowed to discuss the case with Mahomes.The judge ruled Mahomes cannot have contact with the fourth witness. The prosecutor said the the witness has direct ties to the case against Mahomes. The prosecutor also told the judge that someone close to Mahomes tried to influence the fourth witness.Tuesday's bond modification hearing took place after Mahomes' attorney filed a request and asked that his client be allowed to interact with four people on the witness list who are also his friends. The Anaheim Police Department announced Tuesday that a transient man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting last week. Paul Perez, 36, is seen in this undated mugshot provided by the Anaheim Police Department.At 4:40 p.m. on May 10, Anaheim police officers responded for a report of an assault that happened in the intersection of Western and Lincoln avenues.They later located 35-year-old Juan Leon on the 3200 block of W. Cabot Drive suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital for treatment, but later died from his wounds, the Police Department said.Detectives began investigating Leon's death and eventually identified Paul Perez, a 36-year-old transient, as the suspected shooter.On Saturday, Perez was arrested without incident in Norwalk. OAKLAND — A 63-year-old woman was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to crashing her car in 2016 and killing her husband, who was riding in the passenger seat, court records show.Twyla Johnson, of Oakland, was sentenced to 98 days in jail — with full credit for time served — along with the two-year probation term. In February she pleaded no contest to vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, a felony, and was formally sentenced in April.Police say that on Nov. 25, 2016, Johnson was driving in Oakland with her husband, 61-year-old Donald Brooks, when their vehicle struck a PG&E pole on the 9600 block of Empire Road. She was identified as the driver, and a toxicology report showed her blood alcohol level was roughly twice the legal limit, according to court records.Brooks died at a nearby hospital the following day.
